Tarangire National Park features some of the greatest concentration of game in Tanzania.Tarangire boasts the largest group of elephants on the planet. It’s also home to the magnificent baobab trees, which soar above the African plains with their iconic clustered tops and smooth bark.

Lake Manyara National Park, the ‘loveliest lake in Africa’. The surrounding area is famed for its baboons and is an excellent spot to see hippos, giraffes, elephants and tree climbing lions. A morning game drive lets you enjoy these creatures at their most active.

A visit to local Maasai village and school which will enrich your knowledge of this traditional tribal person and their distinctive heritage. Tour include the Olduvai Gorge. Olduvai Gorge is a steep ravine in the Great Rift Valley of Tanzania. It is one of the world’s most important paleoanthropological sites.

The world’s largest open, inactive volcanic crater, Ngorongoro is one of Africa’s finest wildlife conservation areas and home to over 25,000 large animals including lions, zebra wildebeest and gazelles. It is also one of your best opportunities to see black rhinos, the rarest of the Big 5.

Serengeti National Park is the crown jewel of Tanzania, known for its annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Other animals include the Big 5 (more than 3,000 lions and 1,000 leopards call the Serengeti home), cheetahs, hyenas, baboons, African wild dogs and giraffes. Bird watchers should also keep their eyes peeled for over 500 species that inhabit the plains.




On arrival in Kilimanjaro Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel by an Landside Adventures representative. There will be a trip briefing at the hotel/Lodge this evening. The rest of the day will be at your leisure. Please note this is an arrival day and there are no excursions planned, so you may arrive at any time.

After breakfast, Transfer by road this morning to Tarangire National Park. Stop for a picnic lunch along the way, then enter the park and enjoy an exhilarating wildlife drive. This seldom-visited park, known as the “Baobab Capital of the World,” teems with wildlife. Enormous herds of elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle and eland crowd the lagoons and wild dog roam the plains. Tarangire is also the one place in Tanzania where visitors regularly see dry-country antelope such as the oryx and gerenuk.

After breakfast, we start a game drive at Lake Manyara National Park. This national park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park), located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment.

The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Lake Manyara’s unique tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake.

After lunch is a chance to meet people from other cultures, broadening an understanding of the human experience. A visit to a local Maasai village and school this afternoon will enrich your knowledge of this traditional tribal person and their distinctive heritage. During your time in the village, activities may include Maasai dancing, watching warriors demonstrate how to make fire, witnessing women craft intricate beaded jewellery and accessories, learning about medicinal plants, and possibly a chance to herd cattle if time permits.

And depending on your itinerary, we may also be able to arrange an opportunity for you to write to children in the local school prior to your trip, then meet them when you arrive, enjoying a more personal cultural exchange with your “pen pal.”

After breakfast drives to explore fabled Serengeti National Park, stopping en route at the remarkable Olduvai Gorge Museum with its displays of fossils that provide significant evidence of our ancestors almost four million years ago.

Unequalled in its natural beauty and undoubtedly the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, the vast plains of the Serengeti host Africa’s highest concentration of game. Millions of wildebeest, gazelle and zebra gather here for the annual migration, attracting large predators such as lion, leopard, and cheetah.

The first game drive explores the lush Seronera Valley, renowned for its lion and leopard populations, as well as a variety of other wildlife.

The morning is set aside for another game drive in the Serengeti and you might spot some creatures that you haven’t seen yet. Animals tend to be more active in the morning before the temperatures soar around midday.

After lunch, you will leave the plains of the Serengeti and travel to the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

After breakfast starts exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site. With 30,000 animals in 100 square miles, game viewing is plentiful. Enjoy a picnic lunch.

After lunch return to Arusha town for departure or you may choose to extend your holiday by flying to Zanzibar Island beach for relaxation
