Wildebeest Migration Seasons: The Wildebeest Migration in East Africa, also known as “The Great Migration” takes place between Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park and Kenya’s Masai Mara and is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on the planet. Thousands of wildebeest and zebra’s migrated between the Serengeti and the Masai Mara, constantly driven by their search for fresh grazing. The massive herds are closely followed by predators (lion, hyena, and cheetah), making the most of every opportunity to catch their next meal.
DAY 1 – KILIMANJARO AIRPORT TO ARUSHA
On arrival in Kilimanjaro Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel by an Landside Adventures representative. There will be a trip briefing at the hotel/Lodge this evening. The rest of the day will be at your leisure. Please note this is an arrival day and there are no excursions planned, so you may arrive at any time.
DAY 2 – ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast drive to Tarangire Safari Lodge for lunch. Then depart for afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park. This park has the largest concentration of elephants, often seen bathing in the Tarangire river, lots of giraffes, monkeys, impalas and many birds. It is also one of the best places to see lions, leopards and lions. Evening drive to your campsite for dinner and overnight.
DAY 3 – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK (CENTRAL)
After breakfast drive to Serengeti National Park. Depart for afternoon game drive in Serengeti national park. Serengeti is the park with the largest concentration of big mammals in the world and it is where you will see most of your exciting wildlife. The sightings will include pride of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hippos and much more.

DAY 4 – FULL DAY SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast with lunch boxes drive to Western Serengeti searching for wildebeest. In this area you will have high chances to see the great migration (estimated to reach 3,000,000 animals now) crossing the Grumeti river while the crocodiles in the river try to attack them
DAY 5 – ANOTHER FULL DAY IN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Leisurely breakfast then departs for a full day of game drives in the Serengeti with packed lunch boxes.
DAY 6 – SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CRATER RIM
Enjoy morning game drive in central and southern Serengeti then drive toward Ngorongoro Crater rim via Olduvai Gorge.
You can have an optional stop in the Olduvai area, where the hominid and other significant archaeological discoveries have been made. (Optional activity: fees extra.

DAY 7 – NGORONGORO CRATER TO ARUSHA
Leave very early in the morning for game viewing in Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the Ngorongoro caldera to view the wildlife on the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is often called “Africa’s Eden” and the “8th Natural Wonder of the World”.
A massive extinct volcano, the sheet walls drop thousands of feet to a “Noah’s Ark” of animals on the verdant floor below. Large herds of zebra, buffalo, antelope and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist.
Leave the crater late afternoon and drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight.
